About the Event

Collectively, women’s health is in crisis.

In a culture that the badge of multi-tasking and productivity is carried on with honour, it’s not a surprise that chronic stress related illnesses such as adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues, autoimmune disease, fertility and sleep problems, exhaustion, anxiety and depression are on the rise and becoming a daily pattern for many females.

Last year, the government finally acknowledged that “for generations, women have lived with a health and care system that is mostly designed by men, for men (~ Matt Hancock).”, and called all women in the UK for evidence through a Women's Health Strategy research.

Now, it’s time to change it! Women need more time & space to amplify their voice, to be heard and to slow-down the rhythm of their life by prioritising themselves first!

… And to celebrate the International Women’s Day together this year, I take the pride and joy of providing this most needed time & space to the women of my community. I want to share with you three of my favourite ‘go-to’ practices which I call on when I am in need of the soothing balm of Active Conscious REST: Calm Breath, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra.

In a stress-full world, your body is not designed to move on from fight-or-flight mode into rest-and-digest mode of your Parasympathetic Nervous System without any conscious stimulation or manipulation - no matter who you are, or how little or big the impact of stress in your life is your body needs an active action. These practices I offer you allow your body, mind and soul to slow down, take a pause and move out of the constant ‘doing’ that life asks of you, and to rest fully into simply ‘being’. Then the natural healing power of your body begins to take place, and you start to feel well.

My relationship with Restorative Yoga as a regular practice began years ago when I had a wake-up call, and experienced a nervous breakdown in the middle of the office in my former work-place. The result was PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks and some other health issues. Since then, restorative yoga practices have been the major tool (out of many delicious self-care practices I utilise) that has had the most profound impact on my healing journey, and overall soothing practice of my nervous system. It is a non-negotiable practice that I use to self-regulate my body systems and come home to myself.

Join me and all other women to rest, heal, refresh your energy and restore your balance!

This session is open to all females of all abilities over the age of 16+
