About the Event

StressLess! - This is a 10-week-course for tweens & teens (11-15) to prepare and help them become more resilient individuals in their battle against anxiety & stress. In this course, they will learn various coping strategies to deal with daily pressure, and to ease the negative side effects of it in their body & mind.

WHY SHOULD YOUR TWEEN / TEEN SIGN UP FOR THIS COURSE?

For the youth, peer pressure, social anxieties & information overload, body image, gender issues, isolation and bullying, family issues, time pressure, exam stress, pressure off materialism and on screen violence can be draining and overwhelming at times.

We wish we had started to do yoga and mindfulness practices when we were kid. As mothers of young people who are experiencing all the challenges of this modern yet demanding stressful world, we wish yoga and mindfulness practices would be part of national curriculums all around the world. So, starting from very early ages, young people would gain better skills to regulate their emotions, to build up resilience and to find stability within. So they could become happy and healthy skilful adults not only in academic level but also in social, mental and emotional level.

In this course, while improving body strength and flexibility in non-invasive, non-competitive ways, they can learn many tips and tools to use at home, school, or in social settings to recognise their emotions, to keep calm under pressure and to make positive decisions. These all can allow them to regulate their HPA axis, to change the negative pattern of their thinking as well as some other dysfunctional habits. So, young people can feel empowered, supported and guided to make informed choices, and manage the side effects of daily challenges by using a therapeutic and practical toolset in life.

The way how we teach these methods is not dry or academic, but rich, aligned with modern science and fun.

WHAT ARE OUR AIMS & OBJECTIVES?

This course is designed for all genders in small groups to manage stress, let go of tension in body and mind and enhance general wellbeing. Teens will learn techniques for concentration, reducing the level of anxiety and stress, balancing their nervous system, and connecting to their bodies in a loving way, while still being playful and fun.

The aim of the course is to allow them learning new practical skills and creating a personal tool box from practical elements of yoga & mindfulness to cope with the negative side effects of everyday living with higher awareness and more resilience. By the end of the course your tween / teen will have knowledge and understanding about how to use the breath consciously and efficiently as a tool to calm and regulate their body and mind, how to apply mindfulness techniques in daily settings to become more present, how to sooth and stimulate the nervous system, how and when to use uplifting or grounding movement for different emotional needs, why and how to reduce the excessive adrenalin in the body caused by stress & anxiety, how and when to apply different relaxation techniques as a regular practice, and more…
