LET THE CROW BE YOUR GUIDE
" When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." — John Lennon
WHAT IS YOGA?
The meaning of the word Yoga is “to come together”, “to unite”. This is usually interpreted as the union of mind, body and spirit. Over 5000-years-old with its roots in the Indus Valley, yoga is universal and timeless as a holistic approach to achieve all-round good health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Yoga is “wisdom in work or skillful living amongst activities, harmony and moderation.” ~BKS Iyengar, Light on Yoga
WHAT IS HATHA YOGA AND WHAT TO EXPECT?
Ha represents the cool energy of the Moon and tha represents the hot energy of the Sun. Hatha Yoga is a path towards creating balance in our lives, uniting the opposites and bringing mind&body together. It is the balance of strength and flexibility. Working the physical body prepares us for mental and emotional practices. My classes incorporate Asana (posture), Vinyasa (flow), Pranayama (Breathing techniques), Meditation and Guided Deep Relaxation at the end.
WHO CAN PRACTICE YOGA?
Unlike many forms of exercises, yoga is just for everyone. Regardless your age, gender or physical ability, yoga is a safe form of exercise for all and provides you to work within your limits. It’s not competitive at all and allows you to work with yourself as you are. As your practice develops with patience, you will find yourself in a more centred, calm, clearer thinking, happy and healthy state. You will also build up a strong stamina.
WHAT DO I OFFER YOU?
YogaCrow.UK classes are a place for individuals who need harmony and balance in life, guidance towards positive living, strength and flexibility in body & mind throughout well-planned Yoga practices..
I teach Hatha Yoga in a progressive scheme with the focus of building up strength in the body with many options to suit both those new to yoga and those with experience on & off the mat. By following the aims of the yogic principles and the yogic branches and aspiring to experience them through safe, continually and gradually developing stages, practice becomes progressive, regulated and beneficial.
I am also an internationally registered Relax & Renew ® Restorative Yoga Teacher and teach this gentler form of yoga with a great focus on raising an awareness about conscious rest and deep relaxation in our body and mind. In a restorative yoga session you practise the postures with the aid of props to support the physical body in position of ease and comfort. By doing this you facilitate positive relaxation response through your body’s parasympathetic nervous system and limbic system for energetic, emotional and mental equanimity.
By both practices, I aim guiding you to raise your awareness of your body, mind & emotions. It also motivates you to achieve your own goals through modified or challenging posture practices created for every single one of you individually, even in a group environment. I offer a professional and safe guidance for you to develop an advanced physical, mental and emotional practice by building up a good foundation of balance, strength and flexibility on & off the mat. My classes are an idea to share the thoughts, feelings and experiences about total well-being and personal growth in a very friendly, non-competitive, non-judgmental, fun and relaxing environment.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YOGA?
Yoga helps you to develop a positive relationship with the world around you and with yourself. Through practice, you learn how to settle into the natural rhythm of your body & mind. Yoga balances every aspect of your life and improves the flexibility and strength of your body, mind and emotions. It enables you to de-stress, boosts your energy and you feel more confident and younger. It allows you to have “ME” time in everyday routine.
