LET THE CROW BE YOUR GUIDE

" When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life.  When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.  I wrote down ‘happy’.  They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." — John Lennon

What is Yoga?

The meaning of the word Yoga is “to come together”, “to unite”. This is usually interpreted as the union of mind, body and spirit. Over 5000-years-old with its roots in the Indus Valley, yoga is universal and timeless as a holistic approach to achieve all-round good health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Yoga is “wisdom in work or skillful living amongst activities, harmony and moderation.” ~BKS Iyengar, Light on Yoga

What is Hatha Yoga and What to Expect?

"Ha" represents the cool energy of the Moon and tha represents the hot energy of the Sun. Hatha Yoga is a path towards creating balance in our lives, uniting the opposites and bringing mind & body together. It is the balance of strength and flexibility. Working the physical body prepares us for mental and emotional practices. My classes incorporate long holds of the postures, flow in sequences, breathing, meditation and guided deep relaxation at the end.

Who Can Practise Yoga?

Unlike many forms of exercises, yoga is just for everyone. Regardless your age, gender or physical ability, yoga is a safe form of exercise for all and provides you to work within your limits. It’s not competitive at all and allows you to work with yourself as you are. As your practice develops with patience, you will find yourself in a more centred, calm, clearer thinking, happy and healthy state. You will also build up a strong stamina.

WHAT DO I OFFER YOU?

YogaCrow.UK classes are a place for individuals who need harmony and balance in life, guidance towards positive living, strength and flexibility in body & mind throughout well-planned Yoga practices.

I offer you authentic, comprehensive and diverse yoga, mindfulness, meditation, breathing and deep relaxation classes for yourWHOLEself. – all this beyond just stretching and strengthening the body. My classes are for those who seek accessible and affordable guidance to learn how to slow down and to maintain greater wellness, self-awareness and emotional resilience.

What makes Yoga Crow unique is my passion and purpose to bring yoga into every aspect of your daily life with a carefully designed, distinct and ever-advancing schedule. It accomplishes this as a structured synthesis of evidence based modern science and holistic traditional wellbeing practices.

My yoga teaching finds its foundation based on the combination of best available science and traditional yogic wisdom. The main yoga concepts and guiding principles that I follow are the 8-limb-of-yoga (moving towards bliss, liberation, freedom, wisdom), the Pancha Maya Kosha system (layers of individual being) as well as the Kleshas (obstacles causing suffering in life), and it is aligned with the modern applications of Ayurveda.

By all hatha and specialised practices, I aim guiding you to raise your awareness of your body, mind & emotions. It also motivates you to achieve your own goals through modified or challenging posture practices created for every single one of you individually, even in a group environment. I offer a professional and safe guidance for you to develop an advanced physical, mental and emotional practice by building up a good foundation of balance, strength and flexibility on & off the mat. My classes are an idea to share the thoughts, feelings and experiences about total well-being and personal growth in a very friendly, non-competitive, non-judgmental, fun and relaxing environment.

Structure of the Yoga Classes

What we do in our practice classes matters

  • YogaCrow's classes are based on varying areas of specialities and different themes which aim the students to gain knowledge & skills about the postures and the philosophy of Yoga, and allow them to practise yoga authentically around their individual needs.

  • We also work towards creating a way of life in our daily routines on & off the mat. Class plans are usually developed to cover 4- to 6-week-terms and these weeks are also divided into different sub-themes following each other in progressive stages.

  • Our breath is the main connection to life and we improve the quality of every single breath by becoming aware of it and make it count. Each term we have our focus in different variations of a peak posture, key areas or philosophical concept alongside self-paced flows. Classes are closed with a short meditation and /or and with a guided deep relaxation session to experience the unity of body & mind.

  • YogaCrow's classes are also full of fun and inspiration, and very much based on community spirit with solidarity, support, no judgment and no competition.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YOGA?

Yoga helps you to develop a positive relationship with the world around you and with yourself. Through practice, you  learn how to settle into the natural rhythm of your body & mind. Yoga balances every aspect of your life, also improves the flexibility and strength of your body, mind and emotions. It enables you to de-stress, boost your energy, regulate your HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) Axis and you feel more confident and younger within. It helps you to understand your suffering, pain and struggles. It teaches you the vital importance of slowing down and how to be creative in terms of generating “ME” time in everyday routine.
